 The idea to create a club mascot first appeared in the year 1989. Italian artists from Telemundi Group Co elaborated the image of a beaver. The funny animal – due to its golden forelock – bears some resemblance to the Dynamo’s remarkable head coach Valeriy Lobanovskyy.
Its real life, however, started in 1995, when the costume was designed and  the outfit was sewn in the Ivan Franko Ukrainian Drama and Comedy Theater workshop. Further, the competition for the best beaver’s name was staged, with the name Dyk (DYnamo Kyiv) becoming a winner.
